About Darren & Tania — Creators of Safety Sam

When Darren and Tania met in 2021, they discovered a shared passion for storytelling and a common dream — to create children’s books that not only entertain but also teach simple, valuable lessons about staying safe in everyday life.

As parents, they understand that safety starts at home — through conversations, stories, and small teachable moments. They wanted to develop something approachable, relatable, and fun that families could enjoy together. That vision became Safety Sam — a cheerful, kind-hearted 5-year-old who’s always eager to learn, help others, and do the right thing.

Each Safety Sam book introduces children to the basics of safety in a light-hearted, age-appropriate way — from road and water safety to caring for pets and understanding emotions. The stories are entirely fictional, designed to spark curiosity and awareness, not to replace professional guidance or official safety rules.
Through Safety Sam and his friends, Darren and Tania hope to build a world where learning about safety feels natural, empowering, and fun — one story at a time.
